Here are some pictures taken in June 2006 in Santa Monica of Church of the Open Air, our partnering ministry to the homeless, where anywhere from 100-300 people line up to hear a sermon and get a hot meal twice a week.

Here is Hector (on the left) who is the leader of this ministry to the homeless in Santa Monica.

This was a very exciting day--it was the first day to have The Church of the Open Air on Thursday! From now on, Hector will feed the homeless and have a service for them, reading them the Gospel, on Thursdays at 3:00 pm, as well as Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm in the Pacific Palisades Park on at Ocean and Arizona

Hope for today and tomorrow (as many took bags of food to tide them over until Sunday
when they meet again in the park to hear a lesson from the Bible and get a meal from these Christians)

Hector greeted them by name, and they said, "Hello, Pastor Hector," as they passed through the line.
This ministry is making a difference in the lives of these people.

Giving the people hope in Jesus Christ and love from God. (The Self-Realization Center attempts to feed the homeless, too, but they can't give them any food for their hungry hearts. They can only offer more enslavement to the demonic powers embedding these stronghold territories of Venice Beach and Santa Monica. I praise the Lord that God's people are out to offer the area the Truth and the only Gospel that can set them free from sin).

Jill, feeding the homeless. Jill was baptized by Pastor Hector last year, and now she comes to serve the homeless as a worker in the church.

Hector also brings Christian workers to Venice Beach the second Saturday of every month to feed the neighborhood and hand out In Touch magazines to all the vendors at Venice Beach. It is a pleasure to work with him and his wife, Cecilia.

If you would like to make a contribution to Church of the Open Air, please send a check to Lighting the Way at P.O. Box 202; New York, NY 10044, and specify in the memo line that the funds are to be designated to Hector for this ministry.
